This is in reference to our buffet served by Seyu on 4-Feb-2011. Our request was a non-peak timing of 4pm but were very upset that the CNY cold platter & broccoli with white fungus turen bad and smelled after an hour. It was a real turn-away for the rest of the food that more half of the food was left. The presentation was set w/o CNY decor and it was the worst CNY buffet experience encountered. There were about 5pax with upset stomach after the event. We have spoken to the boss and have yet to hear the response on their solution of this problem. To most of the caterers spoken to, this kind of bad food serving should be settled by refund of amount paid. Bith of the staff had also witnessed the bad smell of the food upon collection time. It was a very embarrassing experience for us as host whom entrusted such an important event to them. We are abosultely surprised by the kind of service and quality served by Seyu after reading so much complements posted. Hope this will hasten the management to resolve this issue before we bring it up to higher hands. Thank you.

    Aaron Reply:

Mrs Chia, regards to your comments, you are the only one who complain regards about the cold dish platter & vegetables that turn bad. We do not have any clients have this issue and our food is always freshly cook on the day. If all the clients feedback stated that our food are not fresh, we will have doubts about the quality of our food. Frankly speaking majority of the feedback from our clients are very positive and i think that your statements are quite doubtful. My staffs also never witness the bad smell and most of our food are already finish while we are doing the collection. Nevertheless, our management have resolve this issue with you and in anyway if we have create any inconvenience to you, we sincerely apologize and wishing you and your family a Happy Chinese New Year.

Food and decor highly praised for my son’s wedding – ‘tea ceremony’ Brunch. They specially cater for my oversea guests. Everyone was impressed especially decor out in the garden. Using them again for satay and chicken wing party.

The buffet spread was well received and overall there were generous compliments from the department on the presentation and the taste of the food. The wasabi prawns especially were flying off the plates and the drinks were good too. The delivery men were efficient in their setting up of the decoration. Overall a job well done. Thank you.

I would like to share with everyone as I have been catering with Seyu for a number of years and their food is above average. Recently, I celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday and one of my friend introduced a new caterer to me called Wanomi catering. As it was from my good friend I decided to use them. To my amazement the food and presentation was way above my expectation. All my guests were so impressed with the taste and presentation of the food and there were absolutely no leftovers. I am definitely catering from them for my company’s seminars and would greatly encourage everyone to use them. Great Job Wanomi Catering.

Just wanted to share with you that many of my guests satisfied with the food presentation and quality of the food as well. My husband love the mee goreng and everyone agreed that the assorted pastries and honey drumlet is soooooo delicious!

Good news is…many took the name card and i hope you will have more clients from thereon.

Thank you for your good service.

    Best Regards

My guests like the food and set-up very much, especially the chocolate fondue counter. The set-up with the flower petals fits our theme very much. Overall it is very good. And special thanks to you, Aaron, for doing such a great job even after working hours, to ensure that the request of the customers are delivered and for reassuring us that everything will be fine.

  9. Ms Ng on April 13th, 2010

I agreed they deliver good service and tasty food but the sales manager didn’t deliver what he promised. Recently, I ordered the buffet. I was told I will get hotel standard serving tray with roll up cover and water dispenser as well as fresh flowers as decor. However, I get ordinary trays, no drinks dispenser and artificial flowers. Luckily the display still presentable. I don’t think I will order from them again.

  10. Belle on March 11th, 2010

We like most of the food. It is tasty and very well received by majority.

Especially the smoke duck, noodle, pawn salad, duck, prawn Yutiao. The desert yam paste is great.. The mango dessert was a let down though.

BTW, you have like to provide those plastic containers for us to pack food (as there are still some left over).

Thank you for the good service provided.

So far so many good comments on the food… what about the portion? If i have 60 pax, how much should i order?

    Alvin Lim Reply:

    Hi AT,
From what I see, Seyu Catering will give 10% to 15% extra on the total food ordered. Thus, you don’t have to worry much about the portion – will be sufficient for your guests. Hope this help. :)

    Hi all,
I just tried Seyu Catering last Saturday at my friend’s baby 1st year birthday party.

Overall, I think the decoration is nice and they are using the bio-degradable forks, plates and spoons, which I feel very good to the environment. ;)

The Yang Zhou Fried Rice is nice. The chicken curry so-so only. However, the drink – Rosy Bandung is kind of too sweet. You all can try to avoid order this drink from the menu.

So overall, I think will only give Seyu a 6.5/10 rating. Cheers!!

  13. Kelly on February 22nd, 2010

The buffet was great and satisfactory overall.

Specific comments on some of the dishes:
Yu Sheng – Good taste. One of my relative told me a few days later, that it taste better than crystal jade’s which she ordered the next day.
Spaghetti – My husband likes it while I think its slightly bland.
    Oat chicken – Thumbs up!
Dessert – Very good! Everyone loves the chewy dumplings in the complimentary sweet broth.
Curry fish (?) – Quite bland in spice combination (I don’t mean chilli) and taste – consider Chilli padi’s lemak dishes, most of the time quite rich in taste and fragrant of both the ingredients as well as sauce/broth
Blueberry drink – the taste is quite nice actually but the colour is a little intimidating (blue food is always difficult to associate with natural) – maybe purple is more acceptable

The setting and deco has won compliments from my family :)

  14. Y.C on February 19th, 2010

Everyone thought the setting and food was very good indeed. Overall we were very pleased with how everything turned out. For the food, the duck and the yam paste were outstanding, the rest were very good – the only critique I overheard was the fish’s batter was a little too thick. My wife also thought the choice of environmentally friendly corn–based disposables was highly commendable. As for the setting, it was very nicely done and my guests were impressed by the golden table cloths on the 6-footer tables. Unfortunately tthat meant that the 4-foot table looked a little out of place as it only had the white underlining (without the golden top) which had some obvious oil stains. Other than this minor quibble, all very good. Thank you so much! Best, yc.

  15. Simon on February 12th, 2010

Overall the food is nice. The only thing we commented is the yam paste (is too watery) and the garlic chicken chop with french toast – the french toast turn soft or it will taste even better I guess.
Anyway, the display and the presentation of food is good and as I said, overall the food is nice.

I think we will continue to support and recommend to others.

    Thanks & Best Regards

I have attended my friend house warming. Seyu was providing the catering services for them. The food was really good, especially the Yam cake, Mini glutinous rice . Laksa was superb too. Overall the food standard was one of the best i ever tried. Some of the guests i knew keep praising the food. I can say overall is well done. Finally i get to know 1 more good caterer.

  18. Alvin on September 9th, 2009

My friend recommended Seyu for my event. Well, the setup was great, the food was fantastic. Overall my guests like the food. Compare to my previous caterer , Seyu have a better standard and not oily. I will try out another type of menu for the next event. cheers :)

  19. Andrea on September 5th, 2009

I was keen to try out new caterer for my little gal’s party and found Seyu having good rating from this website.

This was a huge mistake which I wish I should have sticked to the any of the previous caterers I have used.

The service already sucked when I called to confirm the time they will be coming to clear up. Imagine in the end, hubby and I had to clear the table and bring out everything ourselves simply because they were late! Adding to our dismay, the fried rice tasted terrible because it was so dried and hard to swallow!

  20. Ash on August 5th, 2009

I found out Seyu from this website and saw their ratings. I give it a try and true enough it never disappointed me & my guests and i have quite a number of guests wanted to try their services for their own events. I find their food presentation and food are quite superb. Anyway just to thanks them for their good services.

  21. Jenny on June 30th, 2009

Seyu was recommended by my friend and i had my dad’s birthday party buffet dinner by them.
it was very well done by them as they provide nice deco & warmers for $18.00 menu & above.(thats what they say). the cold dish canapes was amazing & the signature roast duck was great. it was abit late, as partly was due to the loading bay being located too far from the function room.
    but overall was great!

  22. Julie on June 8th, 2009

Used Seyu for housewarming last wknd. Food was ok, but portion was too little. Not enough food for all guests. And today my ofis is also catering in Seyu for 70 pax. At the end, some of us need to buy from outside. Normally if we go fo other caterers, always will be some leftovers. This is not due to taste or whatever, but really the portion is too little.

  23. Kate on June 3rd, 2009

Seyu have many varieties of food and the food quality was good. My guests all like the food because it not oily, not salty and have good food presentation. Further more the Sales manager is very friendly and approachable. I will recommend to those out there who want good food and helpful staffs.
