I have just attended a friend’s baby full month. They have asked Elsie Kitchen for their buffet catering. I like the Nasi Brayani very much as they taste very nice. The curry chicken is also highly recommended. All the dishes were finished at the end of the event. – Think I will call for them for my catering next time.

Not very good. I don’t really like the service. I heard from some people saying that they delivered late for 2 hours! – oh my god!

i need some feedback for Elsie Kitchen on their food & service. My main concern is the food… Anyone got better recommendation for buffet caterer.

Bee: Elsie Kitchen Catering’s service is not so good as expected! Food wise – I find them really good. I have received many good reviews from my guests and relatives. So see if you want good “food” or “service”?!(I prefer better food for my guests – who care the service)

Tan, thanks for your feedback. I strongly agreed with u, better food for guests are more important. Of course, it will be wonderful & perfect to have both lah, thanks.

Tan, I’m really disappointed with Elsie Catering. After reading your feedback & trust Elsie Catering that they will have good food for my guest. Despite thinking of their bad service, i ordered Buffet from them last week. To my surprise their service was very good from the time I faxed them the order, confirmed the order, & till the food was delivered on time. Everything are perfect. The food quite big portion except the pastries, a small tray with a few pieces of cakes & tarts on it. It looks really ‘pitiful’. The nightmare came after eating the food, it was horrible, the veg was very salty & the dessert “mo mo cha cha” got no coconut taste at all, & the yam was not fully cook. Furthermore, my sister having stomach upset after eating the dessert. That’ll be my first & last order with them.

I have no problem with Elsie Catering. All the guests finished up the food. The Brayani and chicken curry is nice. The veg is not bad too. So far, I don’t receive any complaint from my side. Did your other guests have stomach upset too?

We have a lot left over. I did ordered the chicken curry, is not bad. My sis tried to clear the “mo mo cha cha” which left over quite a lot (more than 1/2 tray). I think she took about three small bowl, not at one goal lah. But have stomach upset (diarrhea) after that.

Hi Bee – I feel like it is not the Elsie Caterer’s fault. You must have kept the Mo Mo Cha Cha for too long. This kind of dish tends to turn bad very fast. (esp. the weather is rather hot this few days)

I think that the food doesn’t taste that great at all. In fact i find it below average and they have very poor customer service, i won’t recommend it to my friends.

i have tried their catering last week after hearing so many postive feedbacks about them. to my disappointment, their service really sucks. when i called them & ask them to email me the various menus, there was this lady who said “i can only fax to you, or you can refer to our menus at our website” what the hell. but my mum insisted on catering from them, luckily the food turns out to be gd. if they have a gd service, i might consider catering from them.

Just want to share my experience with Elsie – I’ve just used them for my baby’s 1st birthday last Saturday (19 Sep 09) for 50 pax. I have a total of 100 pax and i ordered another 50 from Jiale because i want to try out their food/service. I always got my catering from Neo Garden for my past occasions but wanted to try new caterers this time. I ordered using Elsie’s online order form for luxury menu and confirmation comes next day. The lady was very nice and allow me to have 2 dessert dishes (25 pax each). The only thing was i am not allowed to make changes to my dish selection when i requested on Friday, but i also understand the timing was too short to do any changes. On Sat, they arrived right on time at 4.30pm and had to wait for me to open up the venue because i was late! They sent 2 delivery guys to do setup, they were quick and very accomodating to arrange their tables where i wanted (next to Jiale’s). My guests had good comments on their food (they also praised some of Jiale’s food) and particularly like their dessert (all the Thai Tapioca and Chestnut were snapped up quickly), honeydew sago was very nice. Potato in the curry was a bit hard but everyone love their otah. There are leftovers for fried rice and mee goreng probably because there were total of 2 noodles and 2 rice dishes. Servings were smaller than Jiale’s even though they are for the same no. of pax. The guys came on time at 10pm for collection and even helped me to cart away all the trash (not from the catering) to throw at the central trash collection area which is quite a distance away. Overall both food and service is good and I will order from them again.

I agree with Sharon that I will order from Elsie Kitchen in my next event. Recently, my friend has organized a house warming party and they have ordered their lunch buffet from Elsie Kitchen. I have tried their Sambal Prawn, Beef Randang and Thai Pineapple Rice which are simply delicious
